Specifically designed for reconductoring operations, this patented roller (Patent Ref. GB 2169151) allows the conductor to be brought in at final installation height. All sagging adjustments etc. can therefore be carried out whilst the conductor is still on the rollers. At the same time the conductor is always fully boxed in, so it cannot escape when being pulled or transferred. Roller weight is 3kg.
The hardened alloy roller runs freely on ball race suspension minimising the tractive effort. The insulator clamps are specially treated with rubber so as not to damage the insulators.
